The road to HEALTH is paved with clean intestines

The finest Colon Hydrotherapy clinic in Lubbock

Colon Irrigation also known as “Colonics” or Colon Hydrotherapy is a technique of flushing the large intestine (or colon) with purified water in order to irrigate, cleanse, and tone it. We are excited to use the Angel of Water System for this gentle procedure, which utilizes gravity, purified and sterilized water, in order to help cleanse the contents of the bowel.

Your health is our priority.

Congratulations on choosing to be proactive in your quest for optimal health. We believe that health begins in the gut. Colon Hydrotherapy is integral to your wellness and an important aspect of any health program.

An Ancient practice to hydrate the colon while gently emptying the contents of the bowel, this restorative therapy can reestablish healthier gut motility, improve digestion, and boost immunity. The ultimate “letting go” experience for a total release and reset.

Scheduling Your Colonic Session

People decide to have colonics for many different reasons, which is why there are many ways to set up sessions to meet your individual needs.

For cases of severe constipation, we recommend that clients begin by doing several sessions in a row or back-to-back sessions. After the completion of the second session, most clients will have a sense of whether they want to continue having more sessions or not.

Doing Back-To-Back Sessions

While this is not a mandatory way to schedule, it is recommended by The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) for many reasons:

  1. It allows you to have a more thorough cleanse and soften up impacted fecal matter on Day 1 that sometimes does not fully release until Day #2, especially if you struggle with constipation.

  2. While most clients report feelings of increased energy and well-being following their sessions, a small percentage of clients leave after their first session with minor common side effects such as a headache or feeling tired. Most people report feeling great or much better post the second and third sessions.

How To Prepare For Your Session

  • Eat high fiber meals for 2-3 days before colon irrigation.

  • Drink plenty of purified water and herbal teas. Please avoid caffeinated or carbonated beverages on the day of the procedure.

  • It is best to avoid smoking or nicotine use for 24 hours prior to treatment.

  • Do not eat 2 hours prior to receiving colon hydrotherapy to avoid cramping.

After Receiving Your Colonic

  • It is important to drink plenty of liquids: purified water, diluted juices, fresh pressed juices, herbal teas, and electrolyte liquids.

  • Eat soft foods for 24 hours after your colonic. Soups and broths are ideal.

  • Avoid eating lots of raw vegetables for several days. Lightly steamed veggies and fruits are best. Chew very well.

  • Reduce meat consumption for 2-3 days.

Alternative Prep for Colonoscopy

The Cleansing Truth is proud to offer the only FDA-REGISTERED ANGEL OF WATER Colon Irrigation System. This system is a very safe, comfortable, and a hygienic way to irrigate the colon for a variety of medical purposes including endoscopies, colonoscopies, or other medical procedures.

USING COLON HYDROTHERAPY FOR COLONOSCOPY PREP:

Sometimes people avoid having a colon cancer screening because they fear the cleansing preparation more than the colonoscopy itself. Prior to the procedure the colon needs to be cleansed of waste in order for the doctor to get a clear view of your colon. There are typically 2 ways of performing this cleanse: Chemical laxatives or Colon Hydrotherapy. Unfortunately, many people report that the chemical laxative pre-cleanse is very unpleasant and sometimes painful. It can be highly inconvenient as it often requires keeping very close to a bathroom for as long as a full day, taking time away from work.

Colon Hydrotherapy offers a drug-free alternative by using warm, sterilized water to flush the waste of the colon. This allows for little to no cramping and allows you to go about your normal activities afterwards. In addition, colon hydrotherapy promotes peristalsis, which enhances the muscle tone of the colon and supports elimination.

We suggest the following schedule when using Colon Hydrotherapy as an alternative to help you prep for your Colonoscopy:

  • Colon Hydrotherapy Session 2 days prior to exam

  • Colon Hydrotherapy Session 1 day prior to exam

  • Colon Hydrotherapy Session the morning before the exam, if necessary depending upon the individual.

One week prior to exam we suggest:

  • Magnesium Supplements daily

  • Probiotic Supplements daily

  • Herbal/Bowel Cleanse or Toner if needed

  • Electrolyte Supplementation following the procedure

FAQs

Is Colon Hydrotherapy Safe?

Yes. In fact, with the equipment we use, sessions are much safer and easier than the common enema.

How does a colon hydrotherapy treatment differ from an enema?

An enema only reaches the rectum and lower portion of the colon, whereas with colon irrigation (hydrotherapy) the entire length of the colon is reached and it is many more times effective. According to learned centenarian Dr. Norman Walker, “One colon irrigation session is equivalent to 30 enemas.”

Does it hurt?

No. In fact many people report their colon hydrotherapy sessions as being both relaxing and refreshing.

Why is it necessary to do Colon Hydrotherapy?

After years of poor diet & nutrition, dehydration, insufficient exercise and stress, we develop sluggish digestion and elimination. A sluggish bowel, along with an unhealthy diet, can create a build-up of fecal matter and waste, which can cause toxins to be reabsorbed into the bloodstream (“autointoxication” or “self-poisoning”). According to the Royal Society of Medicine in London, up to 36 different poisons can be reabsorbed by the body. The goal of having a series of colon irrigation sessions helps to cleanse impacted and putrefactive fecal matter and increase bowel tone.

How much of the intestine is actually cleansed?

It is possible to cleanse the entire length of the colon during a professionally administered session. The small intestine is not specifically involved; however, the small intestine may be cleansed with the help of an oral intestinal cleanser.

What are the contraindications?

If you have a concern about your health or the appropriateness of colon hydrotherapy for you, you should always consult your physician or licensed healthcare practitioner. A prescription is required for Colon Hydrotherapy in the state of Texas and will be provided at our facility or you may also provide us one from your physician.

Contraindications for Colon Hydrotherapy include, but may not be limited to:

Recent colon, rectal or abdominal surgery, congestive heart failure, intestinal perforations, carcinoma of the rectum, fissures or fistula, severe hemorrhoids, abdominal hernia, renal insufficiency, pregnancy, and cirrhosis of the liver. Professionally administered Colon Hydrotherapy is otherwise very safe.

Is there any possibility of bacterial or viral contamination from prior use of the colon hydrotherapy equipment?

No. The Angel of Water system uses disposable, single-use, sterile rectal nozzles. The use of sterile disposables coupled with implementation of the Angel of Water’s multi-stage sanitization protocol with EPA registered disinfectants leaves no danger of contamination.

How long does a session last?

A session can last anywhere from 30-50 min, but you should plan on about 1 1/2 hours for your first visit.

How many treatments do I need?

This depends on a person’s symptoms and is determined from the results of the first treatment. Several colonics in a row may be needed. Most people will benefit from 5-7 colonics (one per week), along with supportive supplements and dietary changes. As a preventative measure, you may wish to have a colonic session after a period of travel, inactivity, or other seasonal transitions. Colonics are also recommended during a cleansing program to help support the body while cleansing.

Does having a menstrual period at the time of a colonic have any effect on the experience?

No. Some consider it a good time to have a session since the body is already cleansing. Your flow will not interfere with the success of the session.
